ELT Support was asked to manage the renewal of the course curriculum for a major university ELICOS centre in Sydney. The course, for delivery via a learning management system, comprised five levels of English for Academic Purposes giving successful students entry to the university’s foundation and higher education courses, depending on their study pathway.

The two-year project required a complete overhaul of the course and involved establishing learning outcomes for all levels; setting up guides for materials writing and templates for adding materials to the LMS; writing assessment tools and rubrics; and reporting regularly to the college management team.

ELT Support worked closely with the college’s project leader plus a team of four full-time materials writers while liaising with and supporting teaching staff who were implementing the courses as they were completed. All materials for the course were created by the writing team and included text, audio and video resources.
